A Veteran's Best Friend

Does your dog have what it takes to do canine assisted therapy?

  • Is your dog friendly and interactive with all kinds of people?
  • Is your dog well mannered and polite?
  • Does your dog handle unusual situations with grace?

Do you enjoy meeting people and spreading the love and compassion that dogs can provide?

If this sounds like you and your dog, then we would like to talk to you!

The Power of Dog
Interaction with dogs has been scientifically shown to:

  • Reduce emotional and physical pain, boredom, anxiety, and lift spirits.

  • Teach children gentleness, responsibility, safe pet contact and unconditional love.

No Dog?  No Problem!
Not every dog is willing or able to do canine assisted therapy or you may not have a dog at all.  WE STILL NEED YOU!!  We need team leaders to mentor new volunteers and assist with other administrative and fundraising duties.

Our Vision
To establish an umbrella organization that will provide canine assisted therapy to hospitals, hospices, extended care facilities, schools, libraries and other sites throughout the Treasure Valley and beyond.

Helping Idaho Dogs, Inc. is pleased to partner with United Hospice of Meridian in developing a canine assisted therapy program for their patients.  Once this has been established, the program will be ready to screen and accept teams to perform visits at approved sites.
